This 1940 article was written by Minnie London, who first moved to Muchakinock as a bride and then to Buxton a few years later. London writes of her life as a coal miner’s wife including scheduling time to place orders with the company store, how people from many states moved to Buxton when it started, prominent citizens and businesses within the community and community organizations, including vibrant churches and a highly respected baseball team.  The article was entitled "As I Remember" for the "Explorations in Iowa History Project" through the University of Northern Iowa in 2003.
